What do Atlantis Toe Spacers do?

Most conventional shoes taper toward the front and press the toes together. Over time the toes get used to that position: the big toe drifts inward, the smaller toes crowd, and the muscles between them stop doing much. Atlantis Toe Spacers do the opposite. Five soft silicone loops sit between the toes and hold them in a gently spread position, so the soft tissue between the toes stretches and the toes get used to sitting apart again — the way they do when you stand barefoot on grass.

Who are they for?

Anyone switching to barefoot or wide toe box shoes who wants to speed up the adjustment. People whose toes feel cramped after a day in dress shoes or running shoes. People with mild bunion discomfort or toes that rub against each other and want some relief while sitting, reading or stretching. They’re a comfort and mobility tool, not a medical device: a spacer won’t move bone, and it won’t reverse a structural bunion. How do they fit with Atlantis barefoot shoes?

Atlantis shoes are built with a wide toe box precisely so the toes can spread. The spacers train the same thing from the other direction. Many people use them at home in the evening, then put on their Atlantis shoes the next morning and feel the difference in how the toes land. Once you’re used to the spacers, you can also wear them for short walks inside a wide toe box shoe — never in a shoe that squeezes them.

How to use

1. Start seated or lying down. Slip the spacer on so each toe sits in its loop — the big toe in the widest loop.
2. Begin with 5–10 minutes a day. Add a few minutes each day as it gets comfortable; most people settle at 20–30 minutes.
3. After a week or two, try a short walk around the house in them — barefoot or inside Atlantis shoes with a wide toe box.
4. Remove them if you feel sharp pain, numbness or tingling. Mild stretch is normal; pain is not.
5. Wash with mild soap and water, let dry fully, and store away from direct sun.
